Matt Burnstein is a Program Associate for the Middle East and North Africa team at CIPE. He coordinates and develops CIPE programming in Iraq and the Gulf region. His key program focuses include coalition building, increasing governmental transparency, and integrating SME participation into the broader economies. Prior to his work with CIPE, he was an intern at the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism (START), focusing on monitoring and identifying terror group activities and behaviors across the Middle East and North Africa. He holds a B.A. in International Relations and Arabic from the University of Maryland, with a focus in International Development.
