Ben Schmidt is a Program Officer for the Anti-Corruption and Governance Center (ACGC) based in CIPE’s Washington, DC office. In addition to program and business development assignments, he leads ACGC’s communications initiatives, including its social media, website, blog, newsletter, and podcast. Before joining CIPE in 2019, he worked as a technology editor for a start-up online newspaper based in London while completing a Master’s Degree in Political Economy & Development at King’s College London. Previous to this, Ben spent 5 years working inbound and outbound sales for cloud technology companies in Utah and Virginia. From 2009-2011, Ben spent two years of extended service in Sao Paulo Brazil. He is fluent in Portuguese and volunteers as a Portuguese teacher at the DC-based Global Language Network. He holds a BA in International Relations from Brigham Young University.
