Ben Schmidt

Program Officer, Anti-Corruption & Governance Center

Ben Schmidt is a Program Officer for the Anti-Corruption and Governance Center (ACGC) based in CIPE’s Washington, DC office. Ben leads a portfolio that includes anti-corruption rapid response at the grassroots level, private sector engagement on anti-corruption initiatives, anti-corruption hackathons, and a new generation of corruption indices hosted at www.corruptionrisk.org. Before joining CIPE in 2019, he worked as a technology editor for a start-up online newspaper based in London while completing a Master’s Degree in Political Economy & Development at King’s College London. Previous to this, Ben spent 5 years working inbound and outbound sales for cloud technology companies in Utah and Virginia. From 2009-2011, Ben spent two years of extended service in Sao Paulo Brazil. He is fluent in Portuguese and volunteers as a Portuguese teacher at the DC-based Global Language Network.
