Angela Maria Velez

Program Director, Colombia

 

Angela Maria Velez is the CIPE Colombia Program Director and manages the Colombia Office for Latin America & the Caribbean at CIPE.  Angela holds a constitutional law degree from Pantheon Assas Paris II and has 26 years of experience as a lawyer. She has mainly worked in the design, planning, and management of large-scale projects, with specific expertise in government and public policy strengthening, justice, human rights, and corporate governance, many of them with marginal communities and high conflict areas. She has devoted her efforts to formulate and implement initiatives for the benefit of entrepreneurs.

Prior to joining CIPE, Velez worked as a Consultant for Chemonics and as Vice President of Conciliation, Arbitration and Corporate Governance for the Colombian Confederation of Chambers of Commerce.  She has extensive experience working with international cooperation, the Colombian Government, chambers of commerce, and companies from the extractive sector.
