Leadership e-learning: Building a Leadership Framework

Session Overview 

Leadership is one of the most studied topics in business, it is also one of the most complex, and its scope is extremely wide and deep. There is no one theory or model that can predict effective leadership, nor is there a particular trait or behavior that ensures leadership success. In fact, contemporary thought suggests that leadership is contextual. Yet the best leaders often do have common characteristics and competencies. In this session, you will gain insights into the role of organizational leaders, and the impact and importance of leadership on other peoples’ work and lives. 

Learning Objectives 

Leadership theory provides a context for discussion and understanding the realities of actual leadership experiences. There is a vast array of research from management and social sciences that has informed the study of leadership. We will build a theoretical foundation on which to explore organizational leadership. 

In this session you will: 

1. Learn the different theoretical frameworks through which leadership is studied. 
2. Understand the difference between leadership and management. 
3. Increase your awareness of how successful leaders lead. 
4. Apply the theoretical leadership lens to entrepreneurs.
