1000 Women Entrepreneurs Seminar next week

Kathmandu, November 15

The Federation of Women Entrepreneurs Association of Nepal (FWEAN) is organising the 1000 Women Entrepreneurs Seminar next week aiming to discuss the role of women entrepreneurs in reducing the trade deficit of the country.

The event will be held on November 19 and 20 with participation of 1,000 women entrepreneurs from across the country. Women working in information and technology, hydropower, agriculture, tourism, handicraft and other businesses will be taking part in the event. As per the organisers, panelists from both the private and government sector will make presentations about women’s role as game-changers in the country’s economy.

Likewise, during the event FWEAN will hold discussions regarding increasing the amount in the Women Entrepreneurship Development Fund through which funds are being provided to women entrepreneurs in nine districts currently by FWEAN under the Centre for International Private Enterprise project.

Similarly, different motivational talks and research-based discussions regarding women entrepreneurship in the world will be conducted in the two-day event. Knowledge-based training on entrepreneurship will be provided in the event.

Since 2003, FWEAN has been organising this event annually with the aim of gathering women entrepreneurs representing different areas of the country. The organisers expect the event to identify the challenges and opportunities for women entrepreneurs in Nepal.

Moreover, the organisers expect this event to bridge a gap between women entrepreneurs and the government as government officials will also be participating in the event. On the second day of the event, FWEAN will be collecting signatures from entrepreneurs seeking declaration of Women Entrepreneurs’ Day in the country. FWEAN has been organising the event for the promotion and development of women entrepreneurs in the country.
