The State of Sustainability Reporting in the Philippines

Case Studies

As Philippine businesses navigate a rapidly changing landscape shaped by regulatory compliance, the Center for International Private Enterprise and its partners Makati Business Club (MBC), and SGV & Co., conducted a study on the State of Sustainability Reporting in the Philippines.

The study—the first of its kind since the Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) mandated all publicly-listed companies to submit an annual sustainability report—aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of sustainability reporting as a strategic tool for long-term value creation, stakeholder engagement, and risk management.

SEC Commissioner Bryant Fernandez recognized this groundbreaking report as an important policy input to the revised sustainability reporting guidelines that SEC is scheduled to publish in 2024.
