CIPE has recently released the latest Issue of its Arabic-language Economic Reform Journal (ERJ) focusing on privatization in the Middle East and North Africa. The Journal includes articles that tackle the wrong perceptions that many in the MENA region have about privatization due to recent experiences in Egypt, Bahrain and Iraq. The publication also includes an article on how privatization can promote more accountable and effective public and private governance as well as economic reform.

This latest issue on privatization is the twenty-fifth issue of the Economic Reform Journal, the only Arabic-language publication with original content from the Middle East and North Africa to focus on economic reform. Previous issues tackled corporate governance and its role in building sustainable institutions and viable democracies, the aftermath of the global financial crisis and lessons learned, as well as corporate citizenship and fighting corruption.

Since the release of its first issue in 1994, ERJ has been a leading resource for reformers in the Middle East and North Africa; it provides content in Arabic and French and platforms linking political and economic reforms. ERJ is part of CIPE’s larger communication program, MENA Info, which aims at enhancing knowledge-sharing among the business community to advance reforms.

CIPE’s other Arabic language resources are available at www.cipe-arabia.org, and you can also access ERJ in French along with all CIPE’s resources in French at www.cipe.org/francais.
