Women’s Economic Empowerment in Selected Western Balkan and Eastern European Countries — Regional Gender Analysis

Case Studies

As part of the “Strengthening the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem by Networking Regional Women’s Chambers of Commerce and Business Associations” (WE-Champs) project, implemented by CIPE with the financial support of the U.S. Department of State’s Office of Global Women’s Issues (S/GWI), CIVITAA International published this Regional Gender Analysis on Women’s Economic Empowerment. The WE-Champs project aims to support women’s chambers of commerce and business associations across Europe, Central Asia and Africa to strengthen services for women entrepreneurs and address barriers to their economic participation. This Regional Gender Analysis identifies common themes and obstacles to women’s economic participation across the Western Balkans and Eastern European countries included in the project, underscoring the pressing need for targeted policies and interventions aimed at addressing gender disparities and fostering women’s economic empowerment within these regions.
