CIPE Launches Free Online Training with International Chamber of Commerce – ICC Academy

Statement/News Release

WASHINGTON, DC – On June 2, 2020, The Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) is providing a free online video training co-created with the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Academy to discuss the Principles on Combatting Corruption for Business Associations and Chambers of Commerce.

The training consists of a 20-minute session available upon registration. It introduces participants to the key concepts of the publication “Principles on Combating Corruption for Business Associations and Chambers of Commerce.” The Principles and this training are designed for business membership organizations regardless of location, size, or membership model.

“We believe that anti-corruption compliance can become a new line of business for associations and chambers to offer their members. Businesses of all sizes are grappling with compliance and due diligence obligations and are looking for resources – your organization can offer these services especially if you’ve rolled out a compliance program internally,” said Andrew Wilson, Executive Director at CIPE.

The video is intended not only for compliance staff, but also for leadership and boards of directors. It is hosted by CIPE Global Program Officer Louisa Tomar, who introduces participants to the Principles by making the business case for implementing anti-corruption compliance, from establishing credibility in your market to reducing instances of fraud and abuse.

“This webinar is a teaser of the anti-corruption compliance training program developed by CIPE to assist chambers and associations with the implementation of the Principles,” Tomar said. “Chambers of any size can embrace the Principles and fight corruption, and we look forward to supporting your efforts and hearing your feedback.”

CIPE has worked with chambers and associations in countries across the globe since its founding in 1983. It also manages a portfolio of anti-corruption programs across over 30 countries. In 2019, CIPE led in-person trainings on the Principles and managing risks with partners in Armenia and Moldova with great success.

Register today for the free video training. Additional resources for combatting corruption can be found at cipe.org and iccwbo.org.

CIPE is a core institute of the National Endowment for Democracy and an affiliate of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
