Government agencies are often the first line of defense in responding to sexual harassment, stalking, hate speech, and other forms of Technology-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence (TFGBV). However, preventing these harms requires direct action from business and civil society.
Join us for a virtual conversation on August 6 with Dr. Ipshita Ghosh, author of a forthcoming publication on private sector and civil society responses to TFGBV. The report, part of CIPE’s “Policy Solutions” series, is titled Combating Technology-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence in Developing Nations and Emerging Markets. Dr. Ghosh’s paper provides new policy recommendations based on a comparative analysis of anti-TFGBV in five different countries — Mexico, Sri Lanka, Uganda, Paraguay, and India.
Dr. Ghosh joins CIPE’s Center for Women’s Economic Empowerment Deputy Director Connie Gonzalez, Center for Digital Economy and Governance Program Manager Adam Sachs, and Policy & Program Learning Program Officer Adam Perkins-Goldstein to discuss how business and civil society actors are tackling TFGBV and creating new opportunities for women’s digital empowerment.
