Last year for the 100th anniversary of International Women’s Day, CIPE’s yearlong focus was Democracy that Delivers for Women, culminating a major conference on June 20-21, 2011. The goal of that conference was to bring together successful women from the spheres of business, politics, advocacy, nonprofits, and government to discuss the linkages between political and economic empowerment for women, reflect on their experiences, and share tips for successful women’s empowerment activities.
