Business for Peace

In countries facing conflict and other divisive forces, business can be a stabilizing force and engine of economic growth that provides pathways for the future. By operating across borders and cultures, businesses promote dialogues, cooperation, and mutual understanding, create jobs and empower communities which helps advance social cohesion.

In the Sahel region and many countries, CIPE and partners are identifying innovative ways to support economic recovery, reconstruction, and development to fragile areas. The Sudan team facilitates an online database that shares relevant legal information and facts with journalists, members of government, the business community, and other civil society organizations.  In Ethiopia the private sector is working to establish a sustainable framework that integrates the business community into Ethiopia’s peacebuilding processes.=
