The B5+1 platform serves as the official business counterpart to the C5+1 diplomatic framework, which brings together the United States and the five Central Asian nations—Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan—to strengthen regional cooperation. Established to advance economic reform and public–private dialogue, B5+1 provides a structured process for Central Asian and U.S. business leaders and policymakers to jointly identify solutions that promote investment, innovation, and sustainable growth across the region.
At the C5+1 Tenth Anniversary Summit, the United States and the five Central Asian governments issued a Joint Statement recognizing the B5+1 as “a vital business counterpart to the C5+1 diplomatic platform,” underscoring the private sector’s growing role in regional economic cooperation and reinforcing the importance of the Bishkek Forum as a key pillar of deeper U.S.–Central Asia commercial ties. B5+1 is an initiative of the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) under its Improving the Business Environment in Central Asia (IBECA) program, supported by the U.S. Department of State.
