Strengthening Pro Reform Dialogue with the Business Community

Though Armenia originally chose not to pursue an Association Agreement with the European Union in favor of joining the Eurasian Economic Union, there are now signs that the government may indeed be open to greater engagement with the West. It is clear that the business community wants a stronger commitment to democratic and market reform, in order to jumpstart the country’s economy. CIPE works with the Business Advocacy Network, a coalition of over 20 business associations, chambers of commerce, and business support organizations, to strengthen the Armenian business community’s engagement in the reform process, and to unify the voice of Armenian business. To that end, CIPE’s partners are focused on issues such as tax reform, small and medium-sized enterprise development, and reducing inspections of businesses.
