Jorge A. Aguilar serves as CIPE’s Trade Team Trade Law and Regulatory Advisor, counseling the team on different aspects of international trade law and policy, with a focus on customs reform and trade facilitation. He also advises the Trade Team on matters of operational compliance, serving as CIPE’s representative to the Legal Taskforce of the Global Alliance for Trade Facilitation (GATF). Aguilar has experience working on different aspects of international economic law and policy, emerging market issues, regulatory regimes, and advocacy in Washington, Latin America, and South East Asia. He is bilingual, speaking both English and Spanish.
Aguilar holds a BA degree in International Relations from Rollins College, and a Juris Doctor and an MA in International Development Management from the American University. He has a license to practice law in Maryland.
