As Research Officer for the Policy and Program Learning division, John Fei contributes to the Center for International Private Enterprise’s (CIPE’s) thought leadership at the intersection of markets and democracy. In this role, Dr. Fei also captures lessons learned from CIPE programs and has consulted on CIPE’s work on Corrosive Capital, contributing to Mitigating Governance Risks from Investment in Southeast Asia.
Fei’s professional experiences prior to CIPE reflect his interdisciplinary interests in politics and economics. He previously managed the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation’s Asia Security Initiative, and assessed Asian security and political economy developments at the RAND Corporation and the University of California, San Diego. Fei holds a Ph.D. in Policy Analysis from the Pardee RAND Graduate School, a Master’s degree in Regional Studies: East Asia from Harvard University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Williams College.
