The Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) strengthens democracy around the globe through private enterprise and market-oriented reform. CIPE is one of the four core institutes of the National Endowment for Democracy and an affiliate of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Since 1983, CIPE has worked with business leaders, policymakers, and civil society to build the institutions vital to a democratic society. CIPE’s key program areas include enterprise ecosystems, democratic governance, business advocacy, anti-corruption & ethics, and trade.

 

Position:                      Program Associate, Anti-Corruption & Governance Center

Reports to:                  Program Director, Anti-Corruption and Governance Center

 

Scope: This full-time, non-exempt position is based in Washington, D.C. This position is responsible for providing programmatic and administrative support for CIPE’s Anti-Corruption & Governance Center (ACGC).  The ideal candidate will be able to handle multiple detail-oriented tasks with limited supervision, have a demonstrable interest in anti-corruption and governance and will work well as part of a diverse team and within a dynamic international organization.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Process and track payment requests, travel expense reports, narrative and financial reports, and other filings.
  • Create and maintain a variety of program, financial, correspondence, and contract files in paper form and electronically.
  • Prepare routine documents such as grant agreements, consultant contracts, reporting documents for grantees, etc.
  • Coordinate international travel and local meeting logistics for CIPE staff, consultants and program participants.
  • Develop and improve administrative management processes.
  • Coordinate with programmatic teams to develop CIPE expertise on anti-corruption, to track anti-corruption programming, to develop innovative anti-corruption programs, to support the sharing of anti-corruption expertise.
  • Maintain organizational development tools and content, and assist program staff in accessing relevant tools and content.
  • Correspond via e-mail and phone with program partners, international organizations, and consultants to coordinate program activities, updates, events, and travel.
  • Support writing, reviewing, editing, and preparing reports, cumulative assessments, programmatic proposals, blogs, articles, and other documents.
  • Contribute to ACGC’s communications efforts.
  • Collaborate with multiple departments to achieve programmatic goals, including Communications, Grants and Finance, Knowledge Management, and other teams.
  • Adhere to appropriate office procedures, CIPE, NED, USAID, and other donor policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to an organization-wide culture of innovation and high performance.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in one the following fields is required: International Relations, International Business, Economic Development, Finance, Political Science, or Public Policy.
  • Candidate should have a minimum of two years’ of administrative experience and a demonstrated interest in international affairs, with an emphasis on anti-corruption and governance.
  • Proficiency in MS-Office, Excel, WordPress and willingness to integrate new software programs into workflow.
  • Strong writing abilities, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong English writing and research skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple, detail-oriented tasks simultaneously with limited supervision in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Good financial acumen and ability to develop, manage, and monitor project budgets.
  • Fluency in a second language, especially Spanish, is preferred.
