The growing demand for critical minerals presents an opportunity to advance responsible mineral development and build more competitive, resilient, and secure value chains. Achieving this requires stronger governance, better access to reliable information, and practical cooperation to identify and address risks across the critical minerals value chain.
The Minerals Integrity & Resilience Alliance (MIRA) is a global, private-sector-led platform bringing together mining and processing companies, downstream manufacturers, technology providers, and civil society partners. Members share knowledge, identify common challenges, develop practical tools to strengthen integrity, and implement long-term solutions.

MIRA Meetings provide a regular forum for public-private cooperation, bringing together companies, governments, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders to exchange insights, identify shared governance risks, and develop practical responses. MIRA hosts two senior-level member meetings each year: one online and one in person alongside a major global conference.
Held on the sidelines of the EITI Global Summit, this meeting will bring members together to discuss critical minerals resilience, exchange intelligence on emerging risks, and shape the platform’s priorities for the year ahead.
Past Meetings
Inaugural MIRA Meeting – April 2026
Online
The first MIRA Meeting brought members together to examine emerging risks and begin translating collective priorities into a concrete work agenda. Sessions covered the evolving geopolitical and regulatory landscape; governance and integrity risks, from global dynamics to local operating realities; and practical approaches to supply chain security, traceability, corporate compliance, and investment readiness. The discussion directly informed MIRA’s ongoing work program.
MIRA members can participate in targeted working groups focused on priority governance challenges.
Traceability Working Group
The Traceability Working Group addresses visibility gaps that expose responsible companies to compliance risk and supply-chain disruption. Members collaborate to develop practical tools for traceability, chain of custody, and due diligence, supporting alignment with evolving supply-chain requirements and emerging good practices.
2. Building Resilience: Share Knowledge and Data Insights
Members contribute operational insight, market experience, risk perspectives, data, and technical expertise to strengthen shared understanding of where governance and market risks are concentrated, co-designing and scaling practical tools. Members take part in targeted initiatives across critical mineral value chains, including building technology –based tools, chain-of-custody protocols, and solution-testing activities.
Activities include:
MIRA members can contribute to developing a series of risk maps across mineral value chains and regions to build a global taxonomy of governance, integrity, and resilience risks. The work draws on member input to identify priority minerals, corridors, ownership structures, and value-chain vulnerabilities, supporting a more consistent understanding of where risks emerge and how they interact.
Series One: Tungsten and Tantalum in the Great Lakes Region, Africa
Series Two: Copper and Lithium in Latin America and the Caribbean
Series Three: Nickel and Rare-Earth elements in Asia
MIRA members can provide input into developing a three-part series of country-level governance roadmaps identifying key regulatory, ownership, and transparency gaps, alongside practical steps to address them.
Members can co-design a governance risk-mapping interactive tool covering priority mineral corridors and value chain nodes, from extraction to downstream manufacturing. Developed in partnership with Rovjok. Members contribute data, operational insight to shape what the Atlas tracks.
3. Advancing Solutions: Develop and Implement Practical Tools
Members take part in targeted initiatives that develop and implement practical solutions across critical mineral value chains, including building technological-based solutions and capacity building trainings.
Activities include:
MIRA members help identify priority governance issues and shape digital solutions that reduce risk and cost for companies operating responsibly in critical mineral markets. The hackathons bring together compliance professionals, civic technology developers, and government partners to design and test practical tools in response to challenges identified by members.
MIRA members can engage suppliers and other value-chain partners in capacity-building programs developed through PROTECT and delivered with local business associations. The training supports companies to align with international guidance and adopt practical solutions to strengthen responsible business conduct.
