Democracy that Delivers #287: Supporting Democracy and Economic Freedom in Poland

Ken Jaques, Anna Kompanek |

To report on Poland’s democracy, host Ken Jaques is joined by native Poles Anna Kompanek, Director of CIPE’s Global Programs, and Marek Tatala. Marek is the the newest member of CIPE’s Free Enterprise and Democracy Network (FEDN), Vice President and Economist at the Civil Development Forum (FOR), and co-founder of both the Rule of Law and the new Economic Freedom Foundation in Warsaw, Poland. Despite their home country’s previously exemplary economic and democratic transition, our guests tell of Poland’s recently renewed struggles with rule of law, independence of the media, and political corruption. Listen to find out how civil society, businesses, intergovernmental institutions, and non-governmental coalitions such as Marek’s Economic Freedom Foundation are working to protect this democracy in jeopardy.
