Bribery and lack of transparency are major problems within China. Andrew Wedeman, a Chinese economic expert, says their government’s international economic investment model, in some instances, takes advantage of weak governance issues in some countries.

Wedeman, a political science professor at Georgia State University, provides a history of China’s economic growth and the positive and negative effects of its international investments through the One Belt One Road Initiative.
