Weekly Update: South Asia
Afghanistan – The Ferdowsy and Umulbanin Girls’ high schools conducted exhibitions of products and handicrafts made by students participating in CIPE’s Tashabos youth entrepreneurship course. The exhibition gives students a chance to practice their business and marketing skills.
Washington, DC – CIPE Pakistan Country Director Moin Fudda traveled to Washington to conduct meetings with CIPE staff, legislative staff, the U.S. Agency for International Development, the World Bank, State Department, and National Endowment for Democracy staff, among others. Fudda conducted a session for CIPE staff on recent work on corporate governance in Pakistan’s state-owned enterprises, and will meet with members of the United States-Pakistan Business Council at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to discuss CIPE’s work, as well as current economic and political trends in Pakistan.
