Center for International Private Enterprise to Honor Dr. Jesus P. Estanislao with Hernando de Soto Award for Democracy

WHO:              The Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) will honor Dr. Jesus P. Estanislao, former Finance Minister of the Philippines after the People Power revolution and President of the Institute for Corporate Directors (ICD) and the Institute for Solidarity in Asia (ISA), with its second Hernando de Soto Award for Democracy.

                        The award will be presented by world-famous democracy advocate Hernando de Soto, president of the Institute for Liberty and Democracy in Peru, author of The Mystery of Capital: Why Capitalism Triumphs in the West and Fails Everywhere Else, and recipient of the first de Soto Award in 2009.

WHAT:            CIPE will present the second Hernando de Soto Award for Democracy to Jesus P. Estanislao in recognition of his extraordinary achievements in furthering democracy and good governance in the Philippines and throughout Asia. CIPE has worked with Estanislao for more than two decades.

                        The award presentation is part of Democracy that Delivers for Entrepreneurs, an international conference on building strong and inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystems being held in Chicago on April 9-10.
