"Economic
Files" is a weekly business-oriented television
program produced and aired by CIPE partner Aldiyar
Consulting and Production Center in Iraq. The program,
called
ملفات اقتصادية
(Malaffat Iqtisadiyya) in Arabic, is a seventy-five
minute Arabic-language program and the first television
show in Iraq that is focused solely on economic and
business issues. It features guest experts, street
interviews of Iraqi citizens and comments from the
guest audience as well as commentary from well-known
journalists and academics. The program is meant to
keep the conversation going on economic reform among
the Iraqi public as well as to focus on timely and
poignant issues such as the debate on the new Iraqi
constitution, the economic platforms of political
players, the cost of corruption and ongoing transparency
initiatives in public policy.
The show is produced, written, directed and broadcast
by Iraqis in Arabic. The Center for International
Private Enterprise (CIPE) provides additional support.
