CIPE in Eastern Europe

Eastern European countries continue to face many challenges on the path to achieving integration with the European Union. They have inherited a legacy of legal and economic policies that inhibit the spread of free enterprise and entrepreneurship, especially for small and medium-sized businesses. An emerging class of civil society organizations is advocating to improve the business environment and economic prosperity. CIPE’s work in Eastern Europe builds the local capacity to advocate for democratic and free market reforms through partnerships with key, business-focused civil society organizations, think tanks, business associations, and chambers of commerce. CIPE works with these partners to cultivate greater and more effective private sector participation in policymaking. As these organizations grow, CIPE will continue to assist them in building a regional advocacy network to share knowledge, experience, and skills.
