CIPE Organizes Congressional Briefing on Corruption

On February 24, following the Washington Conference on Corruption, CIPE organized a post-conference briefing on Capitol Hill for Members of Congress and staff members. More than 50 people attended the briefing, which featured presentations by: John Sullivan, Executive Director of CIPE; James Vermillion, Deputy Assistant Administrator at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID); Eugen Jurzyca, Chairman of the Center for Economic Development (CED) in the Slovak Republic, Jean Cartier-Bresson, a corruption specialist at the OECD Development Centre and Phyllis Dininio, USAID Center for Democracy & Governance.

Jurzyca highlighted some of the work conducted in recent years by the CED, an outspoken advocate for a more transparent economic process in Slovakia and his nation's integration into international economic and political organizations.
