Conference Participants

The conference targets five groups of participants from regions of the New Independent States (NIS) and Central and Eastern Europe (CEE):

  1. Executives from small and large businesses and business associations.
  2. Academics from the faculties of Economics, business and finance.
  3. Representatives from regulatory agencies such as Securities and Exchange Commissions (SEC), Ministries of Finance, Central Banks, banking supervisors, tax authorities and SME agencies.
  4. Mission Directors, Economic Growth Officers, Democracy and Governance Officers, and Program Officers assessing and implementing programs that integrate corporate governance and anti-corruption interventions into mission economic, democracy and social sector programs
  5. AID contract and grantee partners should also be considered subject to limitations on the maximum number of participants (approximately 130).

USAID Missions are urged to support Technical Officers in attending this conference.

Nomination and Registration

Nomination

No later than February 23rd, 2002, we kindly request that USAID Missions nominate prospective conference participants whose participation they are willing to finance through invitational travel or direct mission funding. Missions should feel free to nominate up to eight candidates whom they will fund. Embassies in USAID non-presence countries are welcome to nominate participants whom they will also fund.

Registration

Participants are expected to arrive in Budapest by Monday evening, March 25th, and leave on Friday, March 29th.

Country clearance requests should be sent for USAID Mission staff (Name and USAID Mission Office) to USAID/Budapest.
