Reducing barriers to formality
and business costs is a multi-step process that involves:
- Identifying obstacles to formality and sources of high
business costs;
- Raising awareness about these barriers and costs within
the private sector, the general public and the policymaking
community;
- Mobilizing members of the private sector and the public
to advocate for concrete legal and regulatory reforms that
will reduce these barriers and costs; and
- Reducing barriers and costs through governmental passage
and implementation of recommended policy changes and reforms.
