Paris, France
April 23-24, 2001

The Center for International Private Enterprise cosponsored a policy dialogue meeting organized by The OECD Development Centre and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

The purpose of the meeting was to increase understanding of corporate governance and how it functions in developing countries and emerging economies, with the goal of determining how to improve corporate governance practices in these countries. Participants of the meeting included a variety of high level representatives of major institutional investors, corporate managers and directors, and government policymakers and regulators.

Download a new paper, "Technical Paper No. 180, Corporate Governance and National Development" by Charles P. Oman, published by the Development Center of the OECD based on this policy dialogue.
