Gdansk Institute of Market Economics (GIME)

The Gdansk Institute of Market Economics is formulating a White Paper on Corporate Governance for public companies as a starting point for gaining practitioners' acceptance and introducing a code of best practices for the public capital market. The project involves the collaborative work of GIME and the Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE).

GIME has developed a draft Code of Corporate Governance based on research of the key weaknesses of the corporate governance system in Poland. GIME has also developed a Corporate Governance Rating System for local companies, based on the principles of the best practices Code. Additionally, GIME has set up the Polish Corporate Governance Forum to more effectively channel reform efforts in this area.

This website ( http://www.pfcg.org.pl/pfcg/index_eng.htm) is the information platform for the Polish Corporate Governance Forum (PCGF) set up in April 2001 as an independent, pro publico bono, bottom up initiative of the Gdansk Institute for Market Economics. It provides up-to-date information on the most interesting papers, research activities and events in corporate governance in Poland and other Central and Eastern European countries.
